Passport photo based stand-up!

  • September 27, 2011 10:26 am

Just wanted to give a quick plug for this – It’s a new stand-up comedy show based on passport photo collecting.

It’s called Susan Murray’s Photo Booth and it’s at The Hen and Chickens Theatre Bar, Highbury Corner, London, N1 on October 19th & 20th show starts 9.30pm.

Tickets can be bought here

The Blurb

Every face tells a story and for the past 25 years Susan has been collecting passport photographs and surprisingly, they’re not all of her. This is a hilarious rogue’s gallery of friends, family, strangers, lovers, freaks and killers – every mugshot, a memory. So, adjust your seat and join Susan as she has you in stitches about the riot she started accidentally, her family of doppelgangers, and the ultimate fashion accessory: a nutjob stalker.

**Audience members are encouraged to bring their own passport photos to donate to The Wall Of Souls**

And here is what the reviewers said at the Edinburgh festival this year….

“interesting and funny throughout. She is a bubbly personality and very likeable to boot” **** One4Review

“fascinating. At times touching, but most of the time humorous, this is a definite show to see if you enjoy observational comedy.” **** Three Weeks

“thoughtful, energetic show. Murray is an able and warm raconteur. The tale of a stalker manages to be simultaneously hilarious and horrific.” ****The Skinny

“perky, punchy comic..compulsive listening, with a freakish visual twist” ***Fest

“It is actually hard to pick a high point of Murray’s show because it is so well crafted. However, her descriptions of some of the “randoms” will leave you wiping tears from your eyes” Light House Media Centre

A big thanks to those who have emailed me their found photos over recent months. I’ve had some problems with email and have only just received these. I’ll endeavour to get these up as soon as possible.

You can now submit found photos through the contact form on the website. You can upload ten at a time, so if you have any more than this, please send them by email to admin@lost-passport-photos.co.uk along with details of where you found them and the date you found them.

The Northamptonshire Tip Collection

  • April 22, 2010 11:26 am

These were all found in a photo album dumped on a tip in Northamptonshire. Although they were found in Northamptonshire, there are references to Liverpool and Wales written on the postcard and on the backs of some of the photos.

The collection’s so good, I thought it warranted its own section. Many thanks to Laura for sending these through the post. It would be great to see these reunited with their owners.

In this section of found photos, you will find a collection of the passport photos we have found ourselves and have been sent by our visitors. When you keep your eyes open it is amazing what you can find! Looking at these pictures can open up a whole new world. Who are the people behind these pictures? Are they in love? Do they like playing foxybingo with friends? What are they allergic to? There are so many questions to ask but will we ever know the answers?

The thing with lost passport photos is that we will never know the owner. The person behind the picture is lost forever but we have the chance to bring them back to life in our imagination. Take a look at the people below, are there any that you are drawn to? Create their stories and keep their faces with you wherever you go.
